Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Well Holy-that is encouraging. The garden center I went to must have just
been trying to sell me supplements- they told me that a lot of things won't
grow in areas where Oak leaves fall- and in my front yard I have a billion
of them. But come to think of it you are right. I added globs of compost
and peat moss to the flower beds and nothing seems to be suffering- in fact-
all the stuff I planted last spring is doing well. Sometimes I wonder if we
should just put the books down and experiment. At my old house I had a black
walnut tree -I always composted the leaves and then 2 years later-read that
those leaves are very bad- would stop growth etc. Well no one told my yard-I
guess because everything grew just great- even had stuff growing like crazy
in the beds under the tree. Thanks for the encouragement.!-Teri
