We grew peanuts (Virginia Jumbos and a red skin variety) at school last year
.  We started off with 4 to a square foot.  Germination was less than 100% -
probably close to 1 or 2 per square foot.  That bed got real bushy by July
and we had a great harvest in late Sept.  I think one to a square foot would
be good.
