Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Bob-- Apparently the cucumber, zucchini, summer and winter
squash, pumpkin, etc. are from the same family: curcurbits. My books say they
will cross pollinate and it will mess up the zucchini. (I would imagine it would
also affect the cucs too but it does not mention that.. Anyway I have separated
my cucs and zucchini by about 50-55 feet in my yard. The zucchini will grow with
the sweet peas and sunflowers while the cucs will be in the sqft garden proper
part-way across the yard.
Sounds like you have had no problems with zucchini and cucs in
the same garden. Is that right? Anybody else with experience on this
topic?
Have a great Easter,
bill missen.
