Hi Ronald,

Your suggests are very well made. I considered using
clear tape and heavier plastic sheeting, but I decided
against them because I am planning on steadily
improving the greenhouse, and the 1 mil plastic and
ductape are (IMO) good enough for a couple of seasons.
Six mil plastic is definitely stronger than 1 mil,
but all plastic sheeting rips. My biggest worry is a
hail storm, and then I will have to replace the
plastic regardless of the Thickness I choose. You are
right about cold weather tape; I may have just got
lucky and found a batch of ductape that holds well in
the cold weather.

The next major improvement that I have planned is to
add plexiglass sheets this fall. They are much
stronger, and I plan to use them to hold the frames
together thus making the frames appreciabley stronger
and eliminating the need for most of the tape.

Also, I forgot to point out in my plans that there is
no ventilation in the greenhouse. For now, I am just
propping open the door a little. It takes adjustment,
but you get used to it. Eventually, I will devise
some convenient vents for the panels.

Finally, I see the frames being panelled on both sides
to increase their insulating power and (one day)
installed in a pit style greenhouse. I am going to
manage a 12 month growing season one way or the other.

I used to be embarrassed to tell people about this
kind of long range usage. It sounds so grandiose.
But, my wife and I are having some very satisfying
results from my long range financial planning (we are
out of debt and plan to pay cash for property this
year), and I getting less embarrassed to tell people
what I am thinking.

Thanks for the feedback,
George Christovich

And the word became flesh and dwelt among us...
