Denese- Congratulations on your baby. I would be very interested in seeing
a few scanned pictures of your pipe trellis when you can.

Unlurking
here....
Sorry, but I have to put in my two cents worth.
I have
a total of six PVC trellises and this will be the 4th summer for them.
I used 1.5 inch pipe and some connectors and my trellises are about
6 feet tall. I use twine or string or whatever. I rarely
remove any foliage and I know there is a lot of weight on these
trellises. I've only had one come apart, partway through the season,
during a huge storm that took out six foot diameter trees, and the
trellises stayed standing. All I had to do was slip the coupler back
on and then I used some twine and tied it so it wouldn't come apart
again.
I painted my trellises green for looks. All in all I'm
very pleased with them.
If someone wants more info about my
construction. I will gladly help out, but just be warned that I'm a
little incommunicado just now. I'm expecting my first child any day
now and I haven't been getting to my mail on a very regular basis.
Oh, and I have my seedlings started and have almost 100% germination
on almost everything. LOL Seedlings are happy in the
basement till they can be planted out sometime in
mid-May.
Later, Denese (near Cincinnati,
OH)
