Ginny,
I misread the description... They are through "The Cook's Garden". Online at
www.cooksgarden.com or by phone at 1-800-457-9703. They are called "Punjabi
Purple" item #422 $1.50 per packet. Description: "A traditional variety from
northwest India we first saw offered by street vendors around the Taj Mahal,
and later enjoyed as crudites while visiting growers in the Punjab. Long
tapered roots, ALMOST black. Best for fall crops as long cool spells in
spring may cause bolting."

Also found a source for white carrots. Nichols Garden Nursery, online at
www.nicholsgardennursery. com or by phone at (541)928-9280. They are called
"White Belgium" item #VCT510 1gm packet for $1.75. Description: "75 days An
outstanding white carrot that is very mild flavored. Cook in casseroles or
steam, add butter and parsley. Produtive and vigorous it brings a welcome
variety to the table."

Hope this helps you all.
