Katherine, I thought you could keep the row covers on all season on crops
that don't need pollinating. The floating row covers are so thin and porous
that things should do fine. I just looked it up and your right. It will get
too hot. As much as 30 degrees higher in the day. There are a lot of
companion plants you could plant along side your Cole plants like mint (keep
it in pots because it can get out of control), scented marigolds, thyme,
tomatoes and probably more. I'm sure the great people at this site will have
even more info as soon as they get out of their own gardens.
