Yes. You can also just put in paths where you like them and have beds of
different sizes. See:

When you say the garden is 12x20, is that a fenced area where you can't
reach into the garden from outside, or just a tilled area that is set
aside, where you can reach in from "outside the garden"? The way you lay
out your beds will be different in each case.
