I have a couple of questions for everyone. I will be expanding the
garden next year with the idea of putting up more things. More canning,
freezing, drying. So this year I'm experimenting with varieties, timing
and anything else I can think of. OK, LOL, I always do some
experimenting, but this year it's intentional.
One of the things I'm doing is growing a number of different tomatoes to
see which due best for me. I plan on doing some seed saving to promote
some site adaptations, so open pollinated varieties are my first choice.
I would love it if you all could tell me your favorite varieties and
why. Where I am (Southern Oregon) Early Girl seems to be the general
favorite. I'm not fond of it though because I don't find it a really
tasty tomatoe for fresh eating. So far I've selected Medford, Fantastic
(a hybrid), Anna Russian and Tall Rose Vine but I'm looking for at least
2 more. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Gail
