Geez -everytime I turn around I am doing something bad for myself!I had just
read something about making sure NOT to buy the vermiculite from the
"builder's "Section of the hardware store BECAUSE that DID contain asbestos
but that the garden grade was milled differently and didn't-wish I could
remember where I read it- some garden forum no doubt. Ah well- there is
already loads of it in my and many other peoples beds and has been for
several years. I don't like perlite as much. Before I get all hot and
bothered - I would really like to explore this further- I believed the info
on treated lumber and tires and pesticides and many other environmental
issues with no problem- after I was given good solid info that made
sense. - I just would like to make sure this is not out of context. If this
is true and pertains to garden grade vermiculite then a lot of people are
going to be very suprized and disturbed. To think of how much of it I have
breathed and shoveled and run my hands through- I use it for seed starting
and planting containers too - Vermiculite has been my friend -Darn it.Will
do some sleuthing as I hope you all will too since it is a prime ingrdient
in MEL's mix- -We shall see------Kitty
