First, thanks for posting the link so we could read the article for
ourselves.

Second, I don't know that I would worry too much about vermiculite in
general.  As I understand it, Grace is being sued because their mining site
had vermiculite and asbestos commingled and, in the process of stripping the
asbestos, they contaminated the area.  This may have led to some small
amount of contaminated vermiculite produced while this mine was active
(which it no longer is) but doesn't indicate that vermiculite has,
automatically, asbestos in it.  The little research I did seems to indicate
it does not.
