[You can garden in a one square foot plot. That is the thing that is
great about the SQFT method. My bed is 3 feet wide by 50 feet long. You
should allow for one foot wide foot paths where needed to be able to
reach all areas.]

2. Behind my plots I've created is actually 1 1/2 feet of space that I
was
planning on putting pole beans in...does this sound like it might enough
room?

[ This should work just fine. I get by with one foot width ]

3. I want SO badly to grow squash, not only for me but for my pet iguana
who eats winter, orange fleshed squash. However, I just don't feel I
have
the space. Any ideas? One I had was to put them in the front yard and
train
them along the front walk. But there is a concern there, living on a busy
street, that they might get stolen.

[ Your neighbors must be hungrier than mine to steal squash. I have
difficulty giving my surplus away. You can grow squash in a one foot
square and let it spread out over the lawn. It makes mowing a little
difficult, but with some hand trimming of the lawn it can be done.]
