Re: central wisconsin apartment dweller


I tried this year to grow potatoes in a 5-gallon bucket
I cut the bottom out of it and painted it black. The color
I feel will help absorb heat. When the plant matures
some I will cover the leaves with mulch and soil, until
I reach the top of the bucket. I hope this will produce
lots of red potatoes. I feel the advantage of buckets are
that they can be stored in the off season very neatly, with
O maintenance other than a little touch up paint. Has anyone
else tried this?
