The comments on light levels for my tomatoes are interesting ones. About 2 months ago, I attended a talk by an agriculture professor from the Un of MN on seeds and seedlings. Their research showed that seedlings have a very high tolerance for light and have no problems with 18-24 hours/ day. These levels can be continued for up to 6 weeks, at which time the photosynthesis mechanism does need a rest. Based on everyone's kind comments, I'm going to give them 16 hr of light (thanks Henry), water with half-strength 5-10-5 (thanks, Robert), and keep the fertilizer off the leaves (thanks Diana). *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send to: listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu the body message: unsubscribe sqft See http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/sqft.html for archive, FAQ and more.
