Dear Melissa,
OG mag had a chicken wire column 3' high and 2' in dia. with burlap lining the inside to keep out sunlight. (Sunlight will turn the tubers green and make them unsafe to eat.) Place 6" of soil/compost on the bottom and on that place spuds with at least two eyes each and cover them with 6" of soil/compost. As the plant grows, add more and more compost as you go.
When you are ready to harvest open the sides of the wired together chicken wire column sides and the spuds come tumbling down. No digging.
