I am planting my tomatoes in cages in raised beds. The cages are made out of concrete reinforcement wire and are 5 feet tall and 18" in diameter (what I typically do). I usually put 7 cages in the back row of a bed that is 3x12 with something else (shorter) planted in front. This year I was thinking about planting the entire bed with 14 cages but I am concerned about air circulation for the plants. Has anyone grown their tomatoes in 2 closely spaced rows before? Thanks for any input.
