More help needed-My potatoes are growing!

I'm still struggling with this one, too, Dot. Mine are growing like crazy now
and I'm having a hard time keeping them covered. I try to leave the top two
"layers" or "levels" of leaves showing and cover the rest--but they're growing
quickly, so it's hard to keep up! I also found that regular soil seemed too
heavy for the plants--I'm now using a mixture of soil and compost (half and
half) to cover them so that it won't smother, break, or weigh down the plants.
I have mine in a 3foot tall wire "cage" that I made out of plastic-covered
fencing and they're over 2 feet tall already. I have no idea when to
harvest--can anyone help with that?
