Hi, I am not a gardener too much yet but am an avid gardener want-to-be and have enjoyed reading the messages. In answer to the pruning of tomato plants question, I was watching Gardening Naturally on the Learning Channel and Elliot, the show's host, told the audience that we should pick off the shoots on tomato plants that grow between the established branches and that we should never cut or pinch off the top as the plant will die. By pinching off the shoots that come between the branches it allows the plant to use all the energy for growing tomatoes???? I hope I got the information right and again I really don't know what I am talking about.....
