I started my tomato's too early at -10wks. (Next year I will try -6)
The plants look great. They were started in 4x4 cell packs, and I
transplanted some to styrofoam coffee cups and a few to 4" square
pots. I've fertilized twice with miracle grow tomato fertilizer and
sprayed them with a 1tsp per gal epsom salt solution once. They
are under 6x40 watt fluorescent lamps with a fan than operates for
30mins 6 times per day. The grow room temp stays at about 60.
The guys in 4" pots have reached about 18" high and the coffee cup
plants are at about 12". The stems are rigid and about 3/8" dia.
It's two weeks till hardening off begins and they have begun to flower.
Growth has slowed because they are pot bound, but I'm afraid if I
transplant again they will start growing like mad.
My question is:
Does the fact that they have already begun to flower mean that they
finished growing and will not put on additional growth when
transplanted? Also if a transplant becomes pot bound, but still receives
adequate water, light, nutrients, can it resume normal growth without
permanent set back?
