Corn falling over...

Hello, folks...got a quickie question...what would cause corn stalks to
simply fall over?  I'm here in San Antonio, and the corn is approximately 2
1/2 to 3 ft tall.  It's Silver Queen, and is plants in a square foot or
so...was doing great but not is falling over like it's not rooting deep
enough or something.  Any ideas would be appreciated...
