Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I planted Quinault "everbearing" strawberries in some of the 5"X6" holes
of the top course of concrete blocks that I used for my first Asparagus bed.
I got some great berries but the last setting succumbed to a virus that,
presumably, came with the plants. I did not buy state certified plants.
I could not let the "daughters" become established in my Asparagus bed so I
placed 3" sq pots of soil under them and held them down with fence staples.
This was very successful, if all for naught - as the daughters will be
infected w/ the same virus as the mother.
I've trashed all the plants, burned the soil w/ a hand held propane torch,
and planted leafy veggies in those affected holes.
I will start anew next week with STATE CERTIFIED virus free plants.
