I have the same problem. No SVB, but the squash bugs are death on the
summer squash. With only two plants, I tried hand-picking them and
destroying the egg cases, but was unsuccessful. I finally used Sevin dust
and that seemed to do the trick. I would also appreciate alternative ideas
on controlling squash bugs.
