Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
This is the first time I've grown sweet potatoes since I was a kid under my
grandfather's supervision, so rather than give you my own half-baked ideas
I'll refer you to Ken Allan's fine book, Sweet Potatoes for the Home
Garden: with Special Techniques for Northern Growers, Green Spade Books,
1998, ISBN 0-9683241-0-X allan@adan.kingston.net
I got my IRT plastic from Mapple Farms in New Brunswick; you can get an
email catalog from Greg Wingate there, and he does ship to the States, at
wingate@nbnet.nb.ca
He is the guy I'm buying my slips from....
Instructions for starting sweet potato slips are given in Ken Allan's book;
it takes 3-6 weeks and you need higher than room temperature conditions, up
North at least...
Frank--a sweet tater neophyte, he learned that store-bought sweets often
taste bad and sprout bad because of chilling injury---sweets like it hot and
lose quality below 55 F!
