Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi Dawn,
You will probably find that before long, that one little light isn't
enough. I think it's inevitable that whatever size light you have, you'll
always want more! I know that I want more than what I have right now!
For my birthday a few years back, my husband got me a "shop light" from the
hardware store (two 4' lights in a reflector hood). I have it suspended on
chains from the ceiling, so I can adjust the height easily. I usually keep
it about 2-4 inches above my seedlings. If my seedlings are different
heights, and I'm being really anal about it, I'll put some of the pots on
top of a box or something to raise them up closer to the lights.
I have my lights on a timer, and currently I have that timer set for 18
hours a day.
I read that special plant lights aren't necessary, so I just use regular
fluorescent tubes. I have heard, though, that it's a good idea to replace
the tubes every year or so.
