Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Many folks have noted how difficult it is to juggle different sized
plants and mentioned numerous items (eg telephone books, shoe boxes,
etc) to vary plant height. I have been using pieces of rigid
insulation (I found it by the side of the road). It is light, strong
enough to support plants, does not absorb water and easy to cut to
size. It has worked very well this year; I have not yet moved any of
my lights.
Speaking of lights, if you use a shop light, it is a good idea to put
something on top to reflect light down. You wouldnt need to do this
if you are using white metal shelves, but if it is just hanging from
the ceiling, it might be a good idea to make up a relector to put on
top ( A piece of 2x4 plywood painted white would work. For that
matter, some heavy posterboard would also work well.)
