Has anyone tried the barrel method of growing potatoes?  I tried last year 
and the "enormous yield" ended up about 2 pounds.  Considering the amount of 
topsoil and other ingredients I used, not to mention the $9.95 pound of yukon 
gold seed potatoes, that was one expensive bowl of mashed  potatoes.
Just interested to knoe if anyone had similar or more successful experience.
