THE ARCHIVES (was Re:Potatoes)

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Joe:
I hope you don't mind, but I am sending this message to the listserv because I have had several requests for this information. I am including a copy of the message that tells how I get to the listserv archives, but I also want to give you a tip about the listserv messages.

When any message is sent to the sqft listserv, you will note some numbers, a dash, and another series of numbers that are listed in the address of the email. The first set of numbers is the archive number of that particular message.

About potatoes, any potato has the potential to be a seed potato.

Happy archiving,
Sheryl A. McCoy

GETTING TO THE ARCHIVES----

When you get to the SQFT webpage, move down...using your cursor...to the info about the listserv. I made a copy of the text:
The SQFT Listserv and Listserve Data base

"Here you will find directions to get on the Square Foot Gardening Listserve , a computer email system to correspond with other Square Foot Gardeners around the world. From this page you can see how to search past messages on the original sqft list.See the section below about a list for teachers and students. Join both."

Look at the words - Square Foot Gardening Listserve - note the hotlink that will get you to the webpage with the archives.
PLEASE DON'T THINK I AM UNDERESTIMATING YOUR ABILITIES, I AM TELLING YOU MY ROUTE SO
YOU WILL KNOW WHERE I FOUND THE NUMBERED ARCHIVED MESSAGES;-)

Once you get to the listserv webpage, look under the listbot button. Notice the hotlink: View Square Foot Gardening List Archive. Click on it!

You will see the archive number in the first box on the left, move to #899, and you will find my conversation about planting whole potatoes with sprouts. During that same time period, many others
contributed to this same topic, so you may want to read some of the surrounding posts.
