Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi- I haven't recieved much mail from the club
ltely - is the system slow or are you all just busy busy busy? I haven't
resolved the compost dilma with the roaches - except to move it into the sun and
cook it for a while- if they ain't gone soon- I'm bagging the whole mess up and
pitching it.
I have started another pile-question- I have oak
leaves coming out my ears and know that they are hard to break down-so weed eat
them in a garbage can before adding them to the compost- but wondered if anyone
knew how to make leave mold and if they would be good for that or any other ways
to use them. I have used crushed leaves for mulch in parts of my gardens- slugs
hate them- but they are very acid, fly away easy and mat down preventing water
from going thru if you don't stir them up regularly. Suggestions?
Things are starting to slow down a bit in the garden and I am not sure I am
going to do a fall planting other than to use the beds to "hold " fledgling
perinial that I can transplant next spring. The garden area is very swampy and
low in the winter and have not yet made good rock paths to get me over and
around that garden without a boat.! I can't see going out to pick brocolli in
hip boots. What is goiing on in your gardens?-Teri
