I planted Sugar Dot Bicolor midseason ( from Seeds of Change) at 1 per square foot and Early Sunglow Hybrid (from Nichols) at about nine inches apart. The Sugar Dot did well, about half the 6-8 foot stalks had one ear and half had two ears, the ears were from 6-10 inches. The Early sunglow was really short, about 4 feet tall, each stalk produced one small ear (5-6 inches). I would recommend the sugar dot variety, the early sunglow didn't impress me.
