I do not think spider mites have wings. they use the wind to move from plant to plant. I like looking at bugs through a magnifier of some kind. I get most of my biocontrol from rincon-Vitova the oldest insectary in Ca. 805-643-5407 po box 1555 Ventura,Ca. 93002 but a lot of folks carry lacewings. I get both the lacewings eggs and the lace wings that come in a hexcel unit. these are adults that are a week or so old . do you see ants herding the black things . Once again you must stop the ants for aphids . Sounds like that may be what you have. Ants are good guys but sometime I go to war with them. I have put tangle foot around tape and have wraped that around that plant to stop them from climing up the plant. I dig up their house and keep those ants busy doing something else. I drown them with water. On Fri, 8 Aug 1997, CHERYL CLEVELAND wrote: > Sal- > > You mention that you use lacewings because they eat aphids and spider > mites.
