Folks, this is not open for discussion. The list has a well-defined scope, and preservation and cooking are not part of it. There are dozens of other places on the Internet to discuss these topics. I am really annoyed to have to post a third admin message to stop a non-gardening discussion thread, so I am giving fair warning now that I will start unsubscribing people who continue to debate this issue via the list. You are free to exchange views privately off-list all you want. In case you haven't realized, lists are not democracies. I have an obligation to my system administrators to keep the traffic on the list on-topic as defined when they agreed to provide the server space for the list. I am not in a position to expand that scope even if I wanted to without getting their approval, a request for which is more likely to cause the entire list to be shut down completely. Most folks don't realize it, but list traffic translates into real dollars for my institution. In other words, accept the list for what it is - a *sqft gardening* list. If you have other needs, look elsewhere, not here. Melissa Silvestre sqft list admin At 09:18 AM 8/8/97 CDT, you wrote: >For whatever my two cents are worth, I agree that this should >be allowed too.
