Re: Iceberg Lettuce

Park Seed used to carry "Mission" lettuce which was an Iceberg lettuce. It
was great. It stood up to the heat long enough to reliably form real heads
of lettuce just like the stuff they sold in the supermarket before the
current fad in out of the ordinary lettuces took over.
But then Park Seed stopped selling the seeds--I think. Park Seed may carry
an improved version of the old Mission lettuce. It might be worth asking
them about it. If you need their address, let me know.
I don't know much about what is currently being offered because I often don't
grow lettuce or else I grow super heat resistant butterhead and romaine type
lettuces which I now get from Johnny's Selected Seeds (is that their right
name?)
