Yellow leaves on pumpkin

Hi!

The older leaves on my pumpkin are yellowing and turning brown. The
process is very gradual and moves outward to involve the newer leaves.
The same thing occurred in years past but was never as severe or early.
Fruit production does not seem to be impaired since I have six orange
fruits of medium size (early???)

I don't see any pests but plant diseases are possible. Is there
anything wrong here or is it just part of the natural process. Would my
pumpkins get bigger if the leaves stayed green?

Help specifically or direct me to URL's. I assume this problem may be
common to all relatives in the squash family.

Cheers
Bill
