Re: request for private e-mail

You'll find that a large number of people on the Internet share certain
challenges. Most don't mention them.
There are certain courtesies connected with this medium as there are
with other forms of communications. One reason why people may feel
frustrated replying to you personally is that when you place a question
publicly, people become interested in your question, the topic and the
discussion or answers surrounding your public query.
You must not have been around in the "old days" of the Internet. People
posted questions, received answers or responses and then very courteously
posted a summary of the information for all to read. We never ever thought
of requesting private answers in a public forum. There's just so much to
learn. Things change, people change and the Internet changes, but consider
it a compliment that your questions and comments are so stimulating that
everyone wants to be in on the response.
Besides, if you're NOMAIL, you don't know if the question you've posted
has already been answered and sometimes people just get tired of repeat
questions. How do you know if you're not reading? This is a fairly small
group.
So, don't feel put out or singled out. There's a lot to learn here and
certainly ways to make things work for everyone. It may be that when
you're having a particularly rough time physically that you wait to post
questions until you have the energy and stamina to handle the response.

I am disabled by CFS, and find it physically impossible
to sit at the computer for more than a few minutes each day, if
that.Trying to read the subjects of each post, deleting messages one at a
time (the only way my computer allows),etc., is way beyond me
