I use a wood spade bit (1/4 in) for drilling my plastic buckets. Unless
your plastic is particularly brittle or thin that should work. If they
are brittle use a standard bit (also called a twist bit or a metal bit).
But, worse come to worse, use the masonry bit but with light pressure to
make sure it cuts rather than punctures
