I've put holes in some fairly substantial plastic pots, but wasn't smart enough to think of a drill bit! I put an old poker in the fire and used it to make "melted" holes. The poker goes in like a hot knife through butter. Makes a nice hole and you can twiddle the poker to make the hole as large as you want it. Wouldn't it be great if we could find one foot *square* pots so that we could lift 'em out when the cold weather hits? I'm solarizing the soil to try to beat off the ever present nematodes here in Florida. The tips about getting rid of nematodes that have been submitted have been a real help. Thanks to all of you!
