New gardener here.  When I was setting up my first garden this year, my mom 
told me to make sure and plant hot peppers and bell peppers far away from 
each other.  She said they'd cross-pollinate and I'd end up with hot bell 
peppers.  Now, I always listen to my mom and she'd never steer me wrong -- 
but what do you think?
