What do sh and se stand for?
The varieties were Golden Cross Bantam and Breeder's Choice -- basically,
what we found in a local store when we realized we had to plant NOW or not
at all this year. One is a late season variety. The stalks (of each) are
basically all different sizes.

Well, they've taken many of the stalks completely down, so the tape wouldn't
be very helpful since a broken stalk doesn't make ripe corn. I'd heard they
only went after ripe corn, but that's not correct. I just double-checked
with DH and he said he's positive it's racoons -- deer would have made a
bigger mess of the garden, and he's seen their scat as well.
I'll check out Southern Exposure
Patricia
