Se stands for sugar enhanced, and sh for shrunken kernel. Both are said to
be more tender and sweeter than most hybrid corns, and hold their sweetness
longer after picking. Sh corns must be isolated in distance or time of
planting (and this can be thrown off by the weather) to avoid crossing with
other corns, but se does not have to be isolated. I normally avoid hybrids
and genetically modified seeds, but I love this sweet corn and cannot
tolerate tough kernel skins getting between gums and teeth.  Margaret L
