Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Good question. In our area, the answer is: it depends. Locally owned
nurseries are more likely to have transplants for the right time of the
year. The chains are usually supplied by a grower somewhere in California
and they often supply whatever is applicable for their area, not ours. I
would suggest telephoning local nurseries and asking specifically when they
will have the transplants. Cabbage and broccoli are rather rare at
nurseries in our version of zone 9 because they are easy to grow by direct
seeding. -Olin
