I never thought of doing it that way. I use a hatchet to whack it up with,
remove the seeds, and bake most of it up all at once, I eat my fill and
scrape the meat from the shells and freeze for when I want more later. I use
it in breads, cookies, pie, puddings, and as a vegetable with salt and
butter. It can be shredded raw and frozen for use in breads using the same
recipie as zucchini bread, or substituted for carrots in carrot cake
recipies.
The shreds make a wonderful addition to any muffin recipie. Cut the raw
squash like you would raw spuds and fry up with salt and garlic for a
different taste.
