Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Patricia, Wonder if that's the new name for the Sunset book,
8 1/2 x 11 x 1" thick... $25+?

Bill. THIS is THE month to buy trees, rhubarb, raspberries, bareroot and
such... Jan is OK. Feb is geting late Mar is slim/poor pickings/quality.

IF, you have workable ground, OR will planterize them a while, as I do for a
variety of resaons. Bareroot are cheaper than "containerized" too, if you
already have a container. Next year, you'll have a bigger tree, for less.
Containerizing will dwarf too.

Some, like rhubarb, need such a dormancy and cold, a few souls put them in a
deep freeze a while. If you ground plant, you may be too late, but can buy a
smaller cheaper tree, pot, plant next winter in a pre-prepped hole.
Problem is wet/frozen soil, roots not adapted before winter. Need advice on
dwarfing rootstocks? I know only a very little, just the basics. Also, a new
(ha) way to grow trees, which is semidwafing and will ADD to dwarfing already
present, if any, is to put 1-4 in a hole just a foot apart. Say, 3 different
apple trees, or in a tight row, and espalier them. Buy now, plant later.

Like raspberries?
Bill
