Bill, Texas gardening is not like gardening anywhere else. Search for TAMU
sites, and do some surfing in TAMU garden URLs. If you've lived in Texas
for very long, you may surmise that gardening in west Texas is quite
different in east Texas. TAMU knows it and makes allowances. I wouldn't
depend on regular garden books for Texas gardening. From what I've heard,
they'll just lead you astray. Margaret L
