Oh, I'm not sure, to answer the question,
if I use them or not, technically.
I don't quite use a raise bed, 
but on a slope of 1'in 10'
everything gets a slight terrace effect.
My spacing is somewhat tight.
I don't prune tomatoes, and had them in 
LARGE containers until this year, when
I did both.  Still have an apple in container.
14 apples this year.  M111 root stock,
interstock which is nice and upper graft.
Would have to check my name at this hour
apparently!
