  I think I'm beginning to understand what is involved in training
a dog. I've had dogs all my life and never taken the time to train
them, but now I don't have a choice ( if I want to garden ). Dogs
need lots of exercise and running, and I'm glad we have a yard big
enough to do that. I just have to be out there now, as long as the 
dog is outside so I can monitor his every move. He is learning but
in the meantime, lots of plants have been ruined. If I don't catch
him before he gets to the garden, sometimes it is too late. Last
week he jumped into the strawberry garden and started digging with
his back legs. Fortunately, nothing was destroyed this time, but it
only takes two seconds for him to jump on the plants and hurt them.
The fencing will help, but I can't buy it all at once. I noticed the
dogs can stick their heads through the fences though. LOL. 
The big puppy actually listens as long as we are out there now, its
just when I'm not out there...what does he get into then? :&
