Thanks, Gary, for the great info!!!
>Now, can you point me in the direction of a good day-neutral variety for a
beginner?
>>Hi, Kristine! There are 3 cultivars of garden straberries:
>1) Junebearers---bear in June or July >crop over 3-4 weeks
>2) Everbearers---moderate in June, scattered in summer, & small in Aug
>3) Day-neutrals---unaffected by day length & extremely productive with fruit
from June thru frost in Northern areas, but they do require pampering
My Ortho says, "These are listed in catalogs as "everbearers" or "day
nuetrals' (since they fruit regardless of day length)."
Then they tell about regulars. Then about everbearers, and within that text,
mention IF one everbearer is day neutral.
Hmmm. Details, always details.
Tell me where you are, I'll toss in the Orhto names. I'd like the
suggestions for Calif, on the coast almost, temperate.
Tho' one item is confusing...
Ozark Beauty..."for cooler climates...produces poorly in mild climates..."
I can'r decifer THAT one...
