Draw the two systems. 144' of fence minus whatever the gates take, and you'll
need gates every 2 feet!!!  OR one gate and 84 feet of fence, room to work, a
2' path all between and around.  And why should HE weedeat it.  It your
garden.  Real men don't eat veggies!  LOL

I'm a fan of laying down plastic and brick.  Take it with you, rearrange it. 
Pick a pattern to lay them... there are a few that will work and be pretty. 
See if you have 2' or 2 1/2 feet (which would be agood idea, if not for all
paths, either the vertical OR the horizontal, IF you will ever use a wheel
barrow... measure it too, though if it is high where it is wide you can cheat
a few inches as long as it clears the bed boards.

Draw them on graph paper, then a fence.  Write the differences in material and
cost.  That's how to deal with a man.  Numbers.  and Pictures.  36x24x36, etc.

Like compost w/meat products and rats.  Your real problem is you attract them.
 Get rid of the garden, they'll stop coming!  Wish I had the rabbits.   Send
me a baby or two?
