Re: OT: Geraniums, Overwintering

I would cut them back to about an inch or inch and a half high, (pull off big,
old or damaged leaves) dig them up, put them in pots and bring them into the
garage or basement where the roots won't freeze. Keep them on the dry side,
but don't let them dry out completely. (Too much moisture and they will rot)
They can go back out in the spring after the threat of freeze is gone. As I
said in an earlier post, I have seen them die back to the ground from frost
and come back up from the roots, but if the ground freezes you've lost roots
and all.
