*I'd like to make a couple items of information available regarding this. 
There is a avairy wire with smaller hex holes, which fewer finches and
aparrows get thru.  A stck sparrow saddens the heart.  Doesn't do much for
them either.  But it's not super common.  Also gopger wire is similar but
tough! ($)

Hardware cloth on the other hand, retains shape well when you bend it.  It
doesn't flex so much, so the zinc stays w/o fractures or they dip it better,
because it rusts much less... result it it lastes longer usually, carries more
weight, retains shape, easy to cut to a square/rectangle form.  Often, worth
the dough for many applications.

Sometimes it is the better choice...
