Re: Compost question

No, actually I've wondered the same thing. When is it ready to use? How do
I know it is fully composted? Should I wait and start another pile somewhere
else? One thing I found is that after a long period of time ( at least 1 1/2
years) the compost pile kinda levels out and I wonder where all that garbage
was that I put out. Did it disappear? So for the time being, I will still
have my compost pile, and at the same time I will start a worm compost bin.
If I'm in a real pinch for compost I will use composted manure.
I use part of one of my raised bed gardens for my compost pile. After a
long period of time I start taking some out for use. The rest I just leave
there and put seeds in for the garden.
